Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) has demanded strict action against the government officials and the artist couple for violating the historical mosque’s sanctity.
“We condemn dance and song in Masjid Wazir Khan in the strongest words. It is a matter of great regret that sanctity of mosque has been violated in this manner in Islamic Republic of Pakistan and so far neither those responsible for this have been arrested,” PML-Q leaders Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Pervaiz Elahi said.
They said in a statement whether this country after offering thousands of sacrifices in the name of Islam was established so that dances and songs are performed in mosques. “Dance and song in mosques are open violation of the Shariat. Those responsible for this crime should be arrested forthwith, tried and given exemplary punishment so that in the future nobody dares to commit such condemn-able act,” they demanded in a statement issued here on Sunday.
