Notorious Sikandar Jatoi walks free, gave away Rs100m and foreign citizenship to Shahzeb’s family in deal

(Pak Destiny) The powerful feudal lord of Shahrukh Jatoi who had brutally murdered young student Shahzeb Khan  today released from jail after he managed to secure bail. Jatoi had shot Shahzeb dead after the latter stopped the former from teasing his sister.

Shahzeb’s father had appealed to a sessions court to release the four men convicted of his son’s murder in 2012 and to drop all charges against them. Consequently, the court ordered their release.

Earlier, an Anti-Terrorism Court had awarded death penalty to Jatoi and Siraj Talpur for the murder of Shahzeb. Siraj Talpur’s younger brother and helper Ghulam Murtaza Lashari were also awarded life sentences.

There has been uproar in the social media following the deal between Shahzeb and Jatoi families. There were different kinds of stories there, saying the deal was made in Rs100m and foreign citizenship to the victim family.  But it is being said putting in the shoe of the victim family it was not easy for it to face the might of the feudal lords where the government was subservient to it.
